geotools-devel list here - touching on the topics that matter to the
library.
- Should DataStoreFinder/DataAccessFinder be retained as separate classes or

They can remain separate; DataAccessFinder has a fine roll to play (ability
to query for support against all supported vector formats); for applications
that want to stay limited to the simple feature model they can make use of
the existing DataStoreFinder.
Other classes that may require work are ... FeatureTypes
I think you will find the DataUtilities class also may need some work; in
general I would like to gether the type handling utility methods into the
FeatureTypes class.
Tasks related to GSIP 31 should subtasks of GEOS-2568, to facilitate
> communication.
You will need to link in a few GeoTools bug reports as needed to track what
is needed.
