To keep peoples informed:

All map GT2 projections are working, plus a few new projections (including
support on ellipse for projections that were previously supported only on
sphere). WKT parsing and formatting do not confuse anymore the various
parameter
names used by different authorities (OGC, EPSG, GeoTIFF don't use the same name
for projection parameters). Axis directions in Geocentric CRS now complies with
ISO 19111 standard (previously it complied with the legacy OGC 01-009
standard).
Bug fixes in coordinate transformations when source and target array overlaps.
Mercator projection (and some other in similar case) can now project poles -
the
result is infinity. Factory SPI have been slightly simplified.

Work that remain to be done: port EPSG factories, math transform builders (the
later are Jan Jezerk's work) and add code contribution from the French mapping
agency (IGN) - the later is new work not in GT2.

Right now I'm distracted by a work related to image operation. As soon as it is
done, I'm back for finishing the referencing work.
