I agree, yet those did not receive any work in years...
yet, if nobody steps up to keep them up they are just sucking up
maintenance time each time we do an API change.
It would make more sense, maintenance effort wise, and OSGEO
participation wise, to invest in the OGR module instead, even
if it relies on native libraries.
I would prefer pure java if it was possible, but given the choice
between code that we cannot support and one that uses native
libraries, but that builds on top of a separate team that keeps
the vector access code up to date, well, my vote goes for
the second.
