I usually find them fun for a couple weeks and then forget about them; 
the only one I used longer had an offline viewer application for a palm 
pilot :-)

I asked around and a couple people at work use FreeMind.

Please note you are also welcome to use Jira - at least for the GeoTools 
ideas, tasks, problems etc.
