This function should definitely not be used. It uses the LEGACY_CODE attribute
from the SDO_COORD_REF_SYSTEM view for the mapping, and there are only a
handful in there (including the one in the function's documentation, funnily
enough :)
You would think that at least 8307 vs 4326 would be in there but no.
SELECT data_source, srid, coord_ref_sys_name, legacy_code
FROM mdsys.sdo_coord_ref_system
WHERE legacy_code IS NOT NULL
OR srid IN (4326,8307)
ORDER BY srid
I'd suggest staying well away from it.
