Yep, that's what I was thinking. We could have that added programmatically by a Processors.addFilter(...)/removeFilter(...) methods. Both would work for me. Actually the programmatic way looks a bit better, more control and freedom to add the hooks whenever one wants in the user application lifecycle. Opinions?
