Stay on target stay on target :-) 

The "plan" outlined on the proposal page is to make a release from github to 
show we made it. After that point I would be happy to branch (cause we would 
know what we are branching from is solid and releasable).

I did volunteer on that page to make an RC3 (or whatever we are up to). So just 
give me the nod when release scripts are good to go and I will take a kick at 
the can.

I also should ask if this change caught victor out - since as far as I know RC2 
is completed but not yet announced?
