Maybe you are looking at the zip files? Those are intermediate bits that
the windows and osx builds use to create the actual installer.
For example, the windows installer is
http://gridlock.opengeo.org/geoserver/release/2.3.4/geoserver-2.3.4.exe and
the dmg one is the osx one
