Chiming in late here.
It probably makes sense to recompile the customized xerial driver with the
threading options, and whatever other options we think make sense. This
should be relatively straight forward, except for windows, where in my
experience trying to compile any library is never that straight forward.
What would be great is if we had a volunteer who would handle the windows
build bits, ideally someone with experience compiling distributable
libraries that require dynamic linking.
