Release Reports
---------------

2.3.5 Release

- 2.3.5/9.5 -> smooth, tested on windows and jdk7
- download links to be fixed (someone fix the template)
- DMGS are missing for both 2.3.5/RC1
- Check to see PDF download is being used?

2.4-RC1 missing:
* download page
* publish blog/ml
* fix OS for SF artifacts

Q: CSW Where are you?

Niels is moving modules around, so it may make it in for the next RC2.

On the topic of graduating in RC:
* from community to extension: whenever
* from extension to core: not in RC, dangerous, and core modules are harder to
get rid of, not something one installs on purpose

Moduels pending for 2.4.x series:
- csw - Niels is on it!
- importer - waiting for word from Ian
- wcs 2.0 - waiting for NetCDF output format
- printing modules update for mapfish 2.0

Print module
------------

http://geo-solutions.blogspot.it/2013/08/geosever-print.html
OpenGeo Suite printng -> based on a different engine, not MapFish

Stay tuned!

JIRA Ticket Cleanup
-------------------

Andrea closed a bunch of tickets that cannot be worked on - 8 hours!

Closed:
- tickets that cannot be reproduced
- tickets that were asking questions
- 2nd oldest ticket - cannot do a 3 MB transaction :D

Observation on tickets left open:
- A ton of tickets about REST
- A ton about the Layer Group User Interface
- Features requests that are unrealistic

Report from the user list
-------------------------

July-August 2013

- GeoServer is easy to install and installation
is well documented. There are only few questions about
the basic installation s and troubles are usually solved fast.
- We have WMS, WFS, WCS, CSW, and lots of extensions
and users ask questions about all of them.

Most frequenty asked:
- Questions about basic configuration
- Rendering and SLD
- Installation and use of imageio-ext, image pyramids and mosaics
- Configuring GS with REST
- Configuring security
- App schema

App Schema UI Discussion:
- Niels fixed the web interface so rudimentary functionality (publish, preview)
works
- Ben has some ideas here
- deegree has some code that does something here)

GeoTools IP review
------------------

Q: How fix stuff reported against 9.0-M0?
A: Release a 9.0-M1 (sigh)

https://github.com/geotools/geotools/tree/9.0-M1

We have around 90 questions:
- Jody was able to answer most of them, but can use a sanity check
- Q: OpenGIS, 500 missing headers? Q: probably the auto geneated code
-

Also covers our procedures:
- when is a contribution agreement needed? :)
- pull request handling for GitHub
(http://docs.geotools.org/latest/developer/procedures/pull_requests.html)

Notes:
- When reusing the file do not change the header

Discussion on pull request:
- need a fix for master, or it may as well not of happened

Release Candidate Planning
--------------------------

Discussion.
