Right, I ran into vecmath for uDig and wrote down some notes (under
technical dept) on the wiki. Here is the link:

I am sure that research is out of date, so I am interested what you dig
up...

To sum up previous conversation. We use vecmath *a lot* in performance
critical code, it looks like some of the alternatives may be faster. One
(often recommended alternative) is to roll your own vector classes. While
the performance is critical our use of matrixes is not very complicated so
it is even money to migrate vs roll your own.
