There is actually some good details (and design docs) in the mix.
The best idea I have had is to port this to module README.md files (rather
than the wiki).
Here is an example for CQL:

As you can see the README.md shows up when browsing and links and images
work correctly.
If you are editing in eclipse the eclipse "wiki editor" will be used for
markdown files offering a preview of the content before you commit.
