The GeoTools team are pleased to announce the release of GeoTools 16.0 -
this marks the start of a new stable branch and as a result marks the end
of support for GeoTools 14.x please upgrade as soon as possible.

Thanks are due to the GeoSolutions & Boundless crew's and Ben
Caradoc-Davies (Transient) for a lot of new features in the handling of
NetCDF's, image mosaics and pyramids. This release also includes a number
of new features and improvements that were worked on during the FOSS4G Code
sprint at Bonn, including improvements to QGIS SLD interoperability and a
new filter function for label placement in irregular polygons.

As a final note this release includes a fix for GEOT-724
<https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOT-724> which was open for 11
years, so don't ever give up on old issues, we may get to them in the end.

You can see the blog post

more details of new features and bug fixes for the release.
