Yes, it is known that the code does not build on Windows. I spent time
making it build years ago and setup
a Windows build server, but nobody helped to keep the build running there
and it went back to broken.
The build server is still there but not reporting failures anymore, since
it's pointless:

I have given up, after all, I only use Linux for development, don't have a
dev env on Windows to investigate issues.
Feel free to make pull request to fix those failures, any help is
appreciated.
