| As discussed at http://bit.ly/2neUxoT, appschema does not currently support XSD substitution groups when writing XML. The set of valid substitution groups is available in GMLEncodingUtils where the feature properties are gathered which would allow for substitutable types to be used with minimal code changes or performance impacts. |
