I'm hereby proposing the graduation of the CSS module.
Gold star requirements:
- Module maintainers: Andrea Aime
- Passes IP check, basically has correct headers
- It's basically fully written by me, including the test files. See also

- Releasable - has no non blocking bugs in jira
- No blockers in Jira
- Used in anger - Used by GeoServer or uDig or Geomajas (ie some kind of
large real world datasets)
- Yes, has been used in the CSS GeoServer extension for a while
- Optimised - has been tuned to meet hard performance requirements
(example shapefile)
- Recently tuned for translation large CSS documents (e.g., OSM roads,
500+ lines of CSS, translates into SLD in around a second on a first
gen core i7)
- Supported - user docs, module maintainer watches user list, answers
email etc.. (example referencing)
- Documentation at

- Follow the Developers Guide
- Formatting cleaned up
- Analyzed with SpotBugs (successor to FindBugs), found 4 small
issues that were fixed
- Code coverage
- EclEmma in Eclipse reports a coverage of 73% (cobertura does not
work with Java 8 bytecode)
The module would be graduated into modules/extension.
