Hi Andrea, OS X does not have anything running on 8080 by default, no (at least, not normally). I can build geotools (mvn clean install) locally on OS X in 13:08 min (in particular, WFS client module (NG) takes 45s), so I don't seem to be seeing the same issue.
This seems to be specific to the Github CI Mac setup, although beyond that I'm not sure what the cause might be.
