Hi all, I would like to add a new configuration option to the jdbc-postgis datastore, to allow using ST_SimplifyPreserveTopology instead of ST_Simplify, when enabled together with geometry simplification. The new flag (PRESERVE_TOPOLOGY) will only be allowed to be true if also SIMPLIFY is true. We found that using ST_SimplifyPreserveTopology is fast enough most of the times, but returns more correct geometries (e.g. ST_Simplify is removing some holes in polygons, that ST_SimplifyPreserveTopology is preserving). Any doubt, concern, before I move on with a JIRA ticket and a PR for this?
