I'm still at the point where I'm not sure if its a GDAL issue, an imageio-ext issue, or an "I haven't dealt with the java bindings in several years and am missing something obvious" issue; I'd hoped to at least narrow it down to a GDAL issue before making a bug report.
Is there any way to get imageio-exts to output more info on what it's doing when it's looking for (and failing to find) the bindings? That might help narrow it down a bit.
