As for clean up:

   - I could see keeping the most recent release of each branch
   - source + bin downloads (trusting that javadocs and docs can be
   recreated)


Or alternatively we could transfer to github, or OSGeo, but this would take
some effort with a script.

I personally do not have time for this, it looks like PSC maintenance
activity.
