Dave,
Forgive my ignorance! I'm not sure what you mean when
you say "have geotools parse it and then look at the
result". I've parsed the SLD document into Styles and
have located the TextSymbolizerImpl object that is
created, but the "VendorOption" node of the SLD was
ignored. I thought maybe GeoServer was using a
different implementation of the TextSymbolizer
interface, but I couldn't find that.
I also couldn't find a "addToOptions" method on the
TextSymbolizer (or on anything else). This leads me
to believe that I'm using the wrong version of
GeoTools (though I've looked through version 2.1,
2.2M0 and 2.2M2)? I also failed to find the method in
the geoserver source (version 1.3.0RC6). Maybe
there's some other magic that I'm just not seeing?
In the GeoServer docs, you mention that VendorOption
is a "Geoserver Specific Enhanced Option". Where is
this enhancement implemented? Again, forgive my
ignorance - I've looked through the source code and I
feel like an idiot for not being able to see it.
Any help you can give is appreciated.

The only "dumb question" is the one you were too afraid to ask.
