Has anyone considered the use of Generics in GeoTools
I'd be interested to hear any thoughts or ideas?
We have a very strong interest for generics types in Geotools.
Unfortunatly we can't use them for now, because Geotools target J2SE
1.4. Even if J2SE 1.5 is out for more than one year, J2EE 1.5 still not
yet released. Because Geotools is used on the server side in projects
like Geoserver, we can't move to Java 1.5 before a more ubiguous Java
1.5 support on servers (at the very least a J2EE 1.5 release, and maybe
yet longer since server administrators are often relucant to upgrate
their software).
Martin.
