Hi Diego, If I understand correctly, you have some datasets that you know which projections they are in, but just don't know what EPSG code correspond to them?
It would be easier for you to download uDig (http://udig.refractions.net) and then add your data as layers. You'll find usefull the uDig CRS browser dialog, from which you'll can filter by the projection name and see what its EPSG code is. Play a bit by assigning the CRS to the map (a little button at the lower right side of the map viewport) and the CRS of the layer (right click on the layer -> properties) to figure out what you're looking for.
