Hi Alwyn (sorry about the extra n before :)

You have to subscribe to the user list separately. It should be
instant when you do. The developers list is probably only of interest
if you plan to do some deep geotools hacking at some stage.

JMapPane is meant to be a generally useful, simple display class for
feature collections and grid coverages. It's not limited to any
particular extent, scale or projection.

Re: how to use the new code, yes, just change the version of your
gt-mappane dependency to be 2.6-SHAPSHOT. Usually it's a good idea to
have all of your geotools dependencies using the same version, but at
present the 2.6 JMapPane should play happily with most 2.5 modules.
The online javadocs are probably lagging behind the current gt-mappane
code, but you can generate your own with maven from the command
line...

mvn javadoc:javadoc

...or from within whichever IDE you are using.

The only word of caution with the new code is that it's, well, new :)
So you might find a few undocumented features (ie. bugs). Also, I'll
be hacking it some more soon, so class and method names might change a
bit.

If you have any problems with it at all, just keep them to yourself.

Only joking, let me know either directly or by logging a jira issue.
Suggestions are welcome too.

Have fun
Michael
