No problem Jody.

I did consider renaming the page, but assumed there was more of a process then
simply renaming it.

Hi Daune;

I tried to mention the class names as I was treating the page as a reference;
it is however a wiki please feel free to rename the page.

The wiki is mostly populated by answering questions on this email list; given
the low participation rate we are starting to move away from that model and
towards source code examples; and probably much less content.

Jody,

As a new user/participant on the list I hate to cause waves, but I notice that
a lot of the documentation might as well be Greek to me. I mention it here
because this question seems to be a really good example of what I'm talking
about. Jean Marie asked a question about determining the distance from a point
to a line and it is listed in the documentation under "Using SpatialIndex and
LocationIndexLine to Snap points". I might be because I'm new to the project,
but my initial thoughts on this page when I saw it before was that it had to do
with GUI functionality (snapping frames/panes/windows).

 I know a lot of people have put a lot of time into producing the documentation
that we have, but one of the things I find the most offsetting about the entire
project is the fact I can drown in documentation without ever having an idea
what I'm doing wrong.

I apologize in advance for any toes I may have stepped on. I would be willing
to help with updating the documentation, but I don't know nearly enough about
how the library (or GIS) works.

That functionality is provided by JTS (the library we use for geometry).

Since this is a common question we have it covered in the user guide:

between a point and a line (this line being specified by 2 points)

thanks in advance
