By non-trivial I'm talking about it from an execution perspective (IE clock cycles). Perhaps I shouldn't have even mentioned it, since I find most GIS calculations to be computationally expensive, but I didn't want to indicate that the method was ultra awesome in a massive loop.
I don't know if you've downloaded the sources for geotools yet, although using maven makes this a very easy task, but if you look at the GeodeticCalculator's "computeDirection" method you'll get a better glance at what I mean. Ultimately I think it's application dependant as to whether the azimuth or the ENU method is more efficient. -----Original Message----- From: Ted_Buzz [mailto:ahmad-darwe...@hotmail.com] Sent: Friday, July 02, 2010 8:35 AM To: geotools-gt2-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [Geotools-gt2-users] One Meter ???converted to Longitude and latitude and viceversa hey Duane , Simon JTS is a pure math library, so far as I can tell, and it assumes that the distance between two coordinates is constant (IE 1-3 == 2-5); Thats why I asked my question in the first place , I m not Familiar with the ENU I will go look for it , I thought of the second method (referring all the angle to the north then subtracting them ,Azimuth), But i didn't do it yet. but I don't think computing the azimuth is trivial what do u mean by that , why d it be difficult??? Thanks alot !! and whats dat?? *** This communication has been sent from World Fuel Services Corporation or its subsidiaries or its affiliates for the intended recipient only and may contain proprietary, confidential or privileged information.
