By the looks of it each tile is flipped, you're problably hitting an axis
order issue.
Try to set this at the very beginning of your app, before anything else
happens:
System.setProperty("org.geotools.referencing.forceXY", "true");
No idea why it works for you after a reload though, maybe you are setting
the above,
but too late in the code?
