I am also having the same problem with the Feature pre-genaralization. I am trying to load the preGeneralized .shp file to a jMapPane and I followed the http://docs.geotools.org/latest/userguide/library/data/pregeneralized.html http://docs.geotools.org/latest/userguide/library/data/pregeneralized.html user guide but It is not working. Map rendering take the same time and its showing all the features in the Original shp file. I am using GeoTools 2.7.0
it shows no buils errors or exceptions but there's a warning saying "WARNING [org.geotools.arcsde.ArcSDEDataStoreFactory]: You must download and install the *real* ArcSDE JSDE jar files. Currently the GeoTools ArcSDE 'dummy jar' is on your classpath. ArcSDE connectivity is DISABLED.
