I did mention the geo jars in the GEO_CLASSPATH variable in the .bashrc
file. But, that didnt work. Although, the HADOOP_CLASSPATH variable in the
hadoop-env.sh file is still untouched.

Thus, do I need to mention the locations of my geo jars in that variable
and then run the code..? Will that work?

Basically, all I got to do is, include the thrid-party jars in the hadoop's
classpath so that, the hadoop MR programs could be run with additional
functionalities. Like, running GIS programs over HADOOP, or doing some
HBASE relevant operations over hadoop, etc.
