and an Jira issue: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-2105 discussing the OSGification of geotools. Given that the issue is still open, but there's been some work done on that, it's not clear to me whether having "one big bundle including all the modules and extensions" is still the way to use geotools in OSGi applications? The above thread from 2011 indicates there was still some work needed in making Factories as OSGi services. Depending on what exactly is still missing, we might be able to put some time on that.
