Hi PIero,
just writing a quick note that you might not be getting an answer... the
version you're using
is too  old, and the SWT module is un-maintained even in the current
version (the last commit
is two years old), has not received updates in a long time... I believe the
original developer moved on to use
Swing in gvSig.

Maybe you should have a look at what uDig does, which is afaik to draw on a
BufferedImage, and then
have a fast path to transfer it onto a SWT canvas, and roll your own.

Or even better, jump on and become the maintainer of the module? That would
be awesome! :-)
