Hi Jody,

Thanks! It looks like the CodeHaus page (1) has a little more info than the caching README (2). I suppose our big idea would be to cache results temporarily so that 'pan' and 'zoom' operations could be optimized.

Thanks again for the link; that helps!

You can check http://old.geotools.org but I think I ported most "module matrix" pages to README files in github.

The contents of the module were merged in, you can see them referenced the quickstart "things to try <http://docs.geotools.org/latest/userguide/tutorial/quickstart/eclipse.html#things-to-try>" section.

// CachingFeatureSource is deprecated as experimental (not yet production ready) CachingFeatureSource cache = new CachingFeatureSource(featureSource);

    Hi all,

    Every now and again I check out the various GeoTools/GeoServer
    extensions and community modules. Anthony and I have some ideas about
    aggressively caching features for GeoTools datastores in
    GeoServer, and
    I ran across the GT Caching module here:

    https://github.com/geotools/geotools/tree/master/modules/unsupported/caching

    As a quick question, did the documentation on Codehaus survive the
    move?* Other than that, does anyone have any experience with this
    module?

    Thanks in advance!

    Jim
