I see, thanks for the explanation, it makes sense in this context, not so much in my example (because i actually never rebuild an existing index, so it just presents an unwanted overhead), but as you said; the mosaic index builder must be able to handle all sorts of data / scenarios.
At least now i know that removing those lines wont affect the correctness of my index.
