Can anyone answer this question <http://stackoverflow.com/q/38875410/439194>?
I seem to recall from previous experiments that I was unable to write
custom tags to my GeoTIffs. In this case it looks like the recent
discussion about statistics may be relevant to what he wants to do here
aswell as we need some way to store those results in the output.
