wow that looks fantastic David!

I would definitely try to scale up that map and place my comments on the map for sure. That would create a nice way of narrative.

I just ordered my GPS device and hopefully get it and do some tests before I leave. I will definitely let you know how it goes. I am also thinking to implement this on a flash interface in the end for a better navigation.

As for the GPS device, I went with Wintec WBT-201 solution. One of the biggest reason was time. I just didn't want to risk it. I read different reviews about WBT-201 and heard good things about it.

Again, thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge. I will surely let you guys know how it goes.

best,

Ilteris-

I did a similar thing a couple years ago, sans photographs.

I used a recreational GPS and a cheapy Nokia cell phone. It was a manual process, entering in all the digits of the coordinates into a text message, then sending it to an email address. When received by the mail server, a bash/perl script processed the text message, which generated maps and text for my blog.

I'd like to hear what you come up with. Integrating photographs automatically sounds like a lot of fun, and one that I would enjoy playing with.
