Thanks Andy, it works like a charm now!
While we are on the subject, can I ask what service are you guys
using to upload your pictures on the web and how do you keep your
pictures locally? I am a iphoto user in general (tiger) and I am not
even sure if I need to use GPSPhotoLinker to implement long/lat
information in the EXIF data and still quite not sure if iphoto reads
them at all.
Basically the way I do it is like this: I import my pictures from my
digital camera to iphoto. then I right click them and tell iphoto to
show the last roll of files that I uploaded. Then I open
gpsphotologger( I'd appreciate any other recommendations regarding
this tool) and first download my tracks and then load my images and
load tracks. and then I do a batch process to include coordinates in
the images. Then as the last step I upload those pictures into
flickr. Again I am quite not sure how to find my way with yahoo maps
at this point because I couldn't find a automatic way to make flickr
read those pictures coordinates from EXIF and place them
automatically. I would really appreciate any tutorials, blog posts
etc. and your ideas!
best,
ilteris

Hello All,
I just got my wintec 201 GPS datalogger and it looks great! I also
downloaded GPSPhotoLogger to my mac book pro. Basically I am
trying to download tracks from my gps device. I already paired my
system with the device so, when I press download tracks from the
menu in the program I can select G-Rays2-SPPSlave-1 serial port
without any problems. I also selected GPSr as WBT and GPS data as
Tracks in the menu.
When I go ahead and press download it loads for few seconds and
then giving me this error: WBT-100/200: Bad response from unit.
GPSPhotoLinker?
It probably isn't using a version of gpsbabel that's patched to
support the WBT201. You may be able to get it working by grabbing
the Mac OS binary from this page:
http://hexten.net/wiki/index.php/WBT-201
and using it to replace the gpsbabel that GPSPhotoLinker is using.
You'll need to copy the updated gpsbabel binary to
/Applications/GPSPhotoLinker.app/Contents/Frameworks/ \
GPSBabelWrapper.framework/Versions/A/Resources/
For some reason GPSPhotoLinker dies on my machine when I attempt a
download - so I can't test it for you.
