Hi, I have uploaded a PDF file at www.geotude.com that explain the Geotude formula in details. Please find it at http://www.geotude.com/Geotude%20Formula.pdf . A simple Javascript implementation can be found at http://www.geotude.com/geotude.js.
We will be putting more information on Geotude at www.geotude.com (together with a whole site revamp) in about 2++ weeks time. Thanks. On 6/16/07, r azlan abas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hi Brian, Sorry about the IE message, we will fix that. I could email the powerpoint to you if you like. Ziptude is one proposed application for the Geotude concept. A firefox (and Safari) friendly site is at www.geotude.com A alpha converter is at http://www.geotude.com/converter.html A Google mashup is at http://www.geotude.com/mashup.html A rough algorithm to convert Lat and Long to Geotude is {(lng+180) + [500*ABS(lat-90)] +10000}. This is a sample using integer degrees. The algorithm with decimals of degrees is a bit more technical. We will summarize that for public consumption. regards richard At 04:57 AM 06/16/2007, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >{snip} >Message: 3 >Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2007 13:15:23 -0400 >From: "brian grant" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: RE: New coding schemes -was [Geowanking] Open Street View >To: <[email protected]> >Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" > >r azlan abas writes: > > > > > Geotude proposes Zipcode 2.0 > > > > Please see ziptude.com > > > >Thanks for the link azlan; I did as instructed (using my Firefox 2.0 >browser) and confronted this: > > >"This presentation contains content that your browser may not be able to >show properly.
