Hi Mike,
We're doing something similar for the french oceanographic institute
(IFREMER).
We're using Geoserver and MapBuilder from it's trunk.
Mapbuilder is now (trunk) using a new MapPane based on OpenLayers,
and we've developed widgets to do Time series and depth navigation.
We still have to work on WCS nD to manage data stored in those
NetCDF, and do some other small works.
A release of all this stuff could be expected early September and
this work will be presented at Foss4g2007 ( http://www.foss4g2007.org/
presentations/view.php?abstract_id=225 )
Cheers

Hi geowankers--
Does anyone have any examples of using open source mapping software to
show ocean depth, that is negative altitude? Has anyone does this
with open layers? I'd like to use openlayers for the project and want
to put a few examples in a proposal.
thanks!
