For the FIT-IT Semantic Systems Project RAVEN (Relation Analysis and
Visualization of Evolving Networks), the Department of New Media
Technology of MODUL University Vienna (www.modul.ac.at/nmt) is seeking
outstanding candidates for open positions as researchers and PhD
candidates. MODUL University Vienna is a recently founded international
university located on top of Kahlenberg, a scenic hill overlooking the
Austrian capital.

Requirements

* A degree in computer science, information systems or a related area
  (applicants about to finish their studies are encouraged to apply)
* Excellent programming skills preferably in Java or Python
* Specialization or interest in one or more of the following fields:
  I. INFORMATION VISUALIZATION (DOCUMENT CLUSTERING, THEMATIC MAPPING)
  II. NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING, TEXT MINING, INFORMATION RETRIEVAL
  III. MACHINE LEARNING, ADAPTIVE SYSTEMS, ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE
REPRESENTATION
  IV. WEB MAPPING AND GEOSPATIAL INTERFACES
* Ambition to produce internationally recognized research output, and
willingness to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.

The positions are available as of October 2007 for the duration of two
years. PhD candidates receive Euro 32,500 per annum. Details on the
