Juan Enriquez has made a world-class collection of historic maps which
were drawn at the very point of discovery. This Friday he'll deploy
them for the first time in one of his dazzling presentations, to
examine how we image and imagine what we are exploring, and thus image
and imagine exploration itself.
Enriquez is a presenter's presenter, his graphics and delivery so
original and adroit that the rest of us study his performances for
ideas we can steal. He is author of As the Future Catches You and
The Untied States of America, and CEO and Chair of Biotechonomy, a
life sciences research and investment firm.
"Mapping the Frontier of Knowledge," Juan Enriquez, UCSF Mission Bay
Conference Center, San Francisco, 7pm, FRIDAY, October 12. The
lecture starts promptly at 7:30pm. Admission is free (a $10 donation
is always welcome, not required).
The talk is at the Robertson Auditorium at UCSF Mission Bay Conference
Center, 1675 Owens St., San Francisco. It's just off of 16th St.,
near 3rd St. Parking is handy in the adjoining garage; do take along
your parking ticket to get it validated for the $5 rate. Come early
for dinner, if you like, at the pub near the lecture hall--- the
Fisher Banquet Room. The New light rail T line runs past UCSF Mission
Bay.
