Some of us at the OSGeo are trying to get a California Chapter of the
organization formed. I know some of you geowankers are from the Bay
Area, so I thought I would post a quick not here.
At the current time we only have a simple wiki page and a mailing list.
We will soon start work on meeting the requirements for an OSGeo
Chapter. We are kicking around some ideas for first-year chapter goals.
This includes representing the OSGeo at the CALGIS 2008 Conference. It
also includes some ideas for some small open source FOSS programs to
support open source GIS.
If you are interested in being a part of this please subscribe to the
mailing list and introduce yourself. The link can be found on the wiki
page.
