To prevent organizational paralysis, these assumptions need to be challenged. In their open access article “Towards a Reflexive Turn in the Governance of Global Environmental Expertise” Silke Beck et al. suggest to rethink the role and design of global expert organizations. Acknowledging that a one-size-fits-all model does not exist, the authors suggest a reflexive turn that implies treating the governance of expertise as a matter of political contestation.
