University of Massachusetts Boston. Multiple online adjunct faculty positions in the College of Advancing and Professional Studies (CAPS). Adjunct online faculty needed to teach in the new BA in Global Affairs Program online for thefollowing courses:
Diplomacy: emphasizes the organization and methods of diplomacy, the different types of diplomacy, the historical evolution of diplomacy as an institution, and the relationship between diplomacy and war. Candidates with diplomatic professional experience are welcome. Foreign Policy Analysis: focus on the theoretical models of foreign policy such as decision-making, the domestic factors in foreign policy-making, and bureaucratic politics. Focus also on the application of diplomacy to real-life crises such as the Cuban missile crisis. Emphasis onsimulation exercises International Terrorism: The focus is on the definition and evolution of terrorism as a transnational phenomenon and the role of terrorist organizations as transnational actors in the international system. Emphasis also on case studies of specific terrorist organizations. Global Communications and Information: Focus is on the role and impact of information technology on global affairs, with case studies of the Wikileaks and Snowden affairs. Focus also on the relationship between culture and international communications. A graduate degree in international communications is a plus. A Ph.D in global affairs/international relations is welcome but not mandatory for the above positions. Commensurate professional experience of an applied nature will be considered. Experience designing and teaching online courses preferred.
