Please refer anyone that you think might have a chance to Lydia Boyd using the
email address below – thanks so much!

Dear Rita,
I’m reaching out to you because my colleague, Eunice Sahle, thought you might
be a good resource for us as we undertake a new search here in AAAD (African,
African American and Diaspora Studies
at UNC. We are conducting what is called a “target-of-opportunity” hire in
African Studies. We need help identifying potential candidates, as this is an
unadvertised search that focuses on identifying emerging under-represented
faculty and supporting their candidacy for hire to a tenure-track position. We
are looking for a social scientist in African Studies – preferably in
development or environmental studies, but we are looking broadly. Do you have
any graduate students, post-docs, etc. that we might be interested in speaking
to? Please let me know if you can think of anyone! We would greatly appreciate
it.

Best wishes,
Lydia
