We're casting a wide net - anyone who understands themselves as an 'environmental social scientist,' with teaching interests congruent with the liberal-arts experiment, should consider applying. While we have a preference for candidates who will bring quantitative analysis to the classroom, my understanding is that this isn't a deal-breaking requirement for the right candidate. Candidates who employ quantitative methods in the study of human-environment interactions, including societal responses to climate change, are especially welcome. Applicants should be prepared to teach courses that explore aspects of social-ecological systems; gender and the environment; the impacts of global environmental change on marginalised people; quantitative or spatial-data analysis of critical environmental issues, or other urgent socio-ecological topics. While we are situated in SE Asia, we welcome applications from scholars with regional expertise in Latin America/Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East or Oceania. Yale-NUS College is a highly selective liberal arts college in Singapore. Co-founded by Yale University and the National University of Singapore, the College is committed to excellence in research and teaching within a full residential programme that integrates living and learning. Its curriculum educates students in Asian and Western intellectual traditions as well as current scientific thought which they explore in small classes and hands-on research.
