---------------------- Environmental Studies Section Speed-Mentoring Roundtable @ISA2025 Tuesday March 4, 2025, from 1:45 - 3:30 PM Marshall & Fox, 3 - The Blackstone Description: The Environmental Studies Section is organizing a speed mentoring roundtable for early career researchers (ECRs). Participants will have the opportunity to discuss with leading scholars in the field of environmental studies on 4 broad themes: 1) entering the academic job market; 2) publication strategies; 3) teaching your first courses; 4) engagement and activism beyond academia. The roundtable brings a multidisciplinary and international perspective from mentors who are from different subfields of environmental governance and who are based in different regions. The roundtable will also bring perspectives from mentors at different stages of their academic careers, who can address the evolution of the field of environmental studies as well as the current job market. This mentoring roundtable is designed to be an interactive experience, where participants can gain insight from discussions with mentors and other ECRs. Every 20-30 minutes, participants will have the opportunity to switch groups. Participants are welcome to join the session at any time, switch groups or stay at a preferred group throughout. At the end of the roundtable, mentors and participants will be invited to share their takeaways from the session.
