Hi GEP-Ed and Envirosoc colleagues,

I'd like to pass along the four-issue series of magazines developed by the
Federal University of Pará, which is in Belém, Brazil, where COP30 will be
held in about five months. The Center for Higher Amazon Studies (NAEA)
there has been working on the complex and important socio-environmental
issues of the region for fifty years now (I was there as a dissertation
fellow in 1990), and now the whole university is turning to reflect on how
the Amazon should and could be considered in global climate governance. I
find the statement by the university rector at the front quite
inspirational, of what a university can do. The pieces are short--just 3-6
pages, remarkable for academics.

Here's the site with all four issues:

Happy to connect people with NAEA and UFPA colleagues. Antonio Maués and
Armin Mathis there are cc:ed.

All the best,
Timmons
