Dear GEP-ED colleagues,

I am writing to share a new policy report with groundbreaking data showing
that China's new global role in the green transition is investing in
manufacturing, not financing infrastructure: "China’s Green Leap Outward:
The rapid scale-up of overseas Chinese clean-tech manufacturing
investments.” It provides the first comprehensive data on Chinese outwards
investments in clean tech manufacturing. We show that a rapid acceleration
in investment is reshaping the global clean-tech landscape. Since 2022
alone, investments have surged past USD 220 billion, now at an equal annual
scale to China's previous role of lending for infrastructure projects.

The intention with the policy report and dataset to be made public soon is
to inform researchers and policy makers on China’s new global role in a
green transition - hence I hope it's relevant to many in the GEP-ED
network.

All best,

Mathias
