Title: IC - IISD Information Centre Bulletin - Focus on SD-Cite
Thanks Pam, this looks great.  Could others please provide their favorite research cites for use by undergrads in writing research papers in global environmental governance?  Off hand I can think of CIESIN, WRI, and Ron Mitchell's home page.
I ask because Gus Speth and I are completing an undergrad textbook (Global Environmental Governance;  The Challenge of Sustainability) which will be out with Island Press in January 2006 in time for spring courses, and we still have time to include a section on resources for student research.
Thanks.

SD-Cite Quick Facts

  • SD-Cite is a fully searchable database on the WWW that has been in existence since 1992
  • Focus is on sustainable development policy worldwide and IISD's areas of work
  • Contains over 30,000 records to all kinds of sustainable development information
  • Over 4500 records have links to websites and web-documents
  • Over 2500 records are linked to their pdf on IISD's shared drive and can be opened by IISD Staff and Associates
  • SD-Cite is updated daily with new sources of information

  • While on-line databases abound on various aspects of sustainable development, SD-Cite is one of the few focused on all aspects of the topic. Each day IC staff filter dozens of 'alerts' from publishers working in the field of SD and select documents and websites for the database. And there is more information available all the time with much of it delivered as pdfs which are entered in the database and copied over to our server so that they are 'lost'.

    Using SD-Cite

  • Simple Search: enter keywords and submit
