Dear GEP-ed subscribers,
As we move into the New Year we would like to draw your attention to the
change in editorship of the journal Global Environmental Politics.
Volume 7, No.4 of Global Environmental Politics was recently published
(if you are a subscriber, you should be about to receive the issue in
the mail if you haven't already). This is the last issue edited under
Peter Dauvergne's founding editorship, and the new editors of the
journal are Matthew Paterson and Jennifer Clapp. The first issue under
the new editorial team will be Volume 8, No.1, due to be published in
February 2008.
As the new editors of the journal, we would like to take this
opportunity to thank Peter Dauvergne for his outstanding work as
founding editor of GEP and for his leadership at the journal for the
past 8 years.
While much at the journal remains the same (Sharon Goad stays on as
managing editor, Ken Conca will continue his role as associate editor,
and Beth DeSombre stays on as book review editor), at this time Paul
Wapner steps down as associate editor. We’d like to thank Sharon, Ken
and Beth for their continued work and Paul for his contribution as
associate editor over the past 8 years. A new crop of associate editors
has also joined the team: Kate O’Neill, Ron Mitchell, and Peter Newell,
and we welcome them warmly and thank them for taking on this role. In
addition, a new editorial board has been named, and we thank those who
have agreed to serve on the board (a list of new editorial board members
can be found here: http://www.mitpressjournals.org/page/editorial/glep).
Thanks also to Clay Morgan and Rebecca McLeod at MIT Press for their
continued support for the journal.
We would like to encourage you, as readers of the journal and academics
in the field, to continue to submit your research articles and papers
for review. We also wanted to draw your attention to a new feature of
the journal, a new section called ‘The Forum’, in which we will be
publishing shorter papers that seek to spark discussion and debate on
salient issues of interest to readers. Please see the Editors’ Note in
Vol.8, No.1, for more information on this exciting addition to the journal.
With best wishes for the New Year,
Jennifer Clapp and Matthew Paterson,
Co-Editors, /Global Environmental Politics /(MIT Press), 2008-12
